The Gambia
Now that I have my scanner I can digitally archive all my film from over the years shooting with Dad's AE-1. One of the rolls goes as far back as about 1995 I think. Expect choice bits and pieces uploaded sporadically.
When I was doing my teacher training in 2004/2005 we went on a two week trip to The Gambia to teach in schools and to see the country. A fascinating and at times bewildering experience. I remember being in front of a class of 80 kids with zero resources and very little idea what to do... bumbled through somehow.
This was shot on Kodak Gold 200 with my Dad's AE-1 and Canon FD 50mm f1.4. The crop is a result of two frames overlapping and I think this looks good square. Had no idea what I was doing with a camera at this stage beyond the advice my Dad had given me which was to half press the shutter, look inside the viewfinder to see the indicated aperture, select it, and shoot.
