Dude, today was, completely without hyperbole, the most beautiful August day that ever, EVER happened in New Jersey. Just outrageously perfect. It was hot without being uncomfortable, and not at all humid, and there were puffy clouds in the sky and delicious bright sunshine, and we took Thursday-after-work naps that felt like the beginning of fall, as if hockey should be in the air soon. And when we turned on the TV, there was FOOTBALL! Does it get better than that?
Meanwhile, we had a bunch of stuff that desperately needed to be cooked RIGHTNOW -- a big bag of chard and a couple of green frying peppers from the farm, and basil, oregano, nardello peppers, and cherokee purple, goldy, and rose de berne tomatoes from our garden. With a little of our garden's garlic and a bit of sweet Italian sausage, it all came together in the most scrumptious Thursday night dinner ever.
Creep.
This odd scarecrow was perched in a little field on the way out to the ferryland lighthouse, love the onion bag head...
