Day 266: Today I wear RED!
Normally, I don't care too much for hockey, I know, how can any red-blooded Canadian say that??? Since I am surrounded by a household of Detroit Red Wing fans, I have no choice but to be made aware of all their attributes and accoloades. Kevin is the biggest Red Wing fan I've ever met so he was thrilled by them winning the Stanley Cup (again!) last night. I guess it made for the perfect birthday present for him, he turns 40 today. I was bummed as nobody in this stupid city has the locker room jerseys yet, so I couldn't give him one for his birthday, so he'll just have to wait! I did a whole series of me in his Red Wing jersey though, so he'll have to be happy with those. This is the only one I'll post on flickr, I think it's daring enough! Way to go Wings!!!
4/365 - For the Hockey Fan
As I search through a closet I come across my Dad’s old goalie equipment. I look at it and can’t help but think that if he was still here with us today he’d be glued to that TV tomorrow night watching Team Canada beat Russia (I’m not being too optimistic am I?) So with that I dedicate this day of 365 to those die hard hockey fan and... to those of us who just have the urge to be patriotic (GO CANADA GO!). To my Dad... I miss you, you are forever in my thoughts and in my heart (RIP) xox
