88/365 - Into the fire....
Was wondering all day how I was going to stay on theme, then on the way home, I decided to roll down my windows to let some of the heat out (it was a hot, humid day again). Then, like a normal person decided to want to roll them up a bit while it was still cooling down in the truck.
Well, then it happened. The front passenger window would not roll up... tried again, no go. This is my 2004 F150 supercrew Lariat which has already had all 4 window actuator motors replaced on it. This is number 5 and the 2nd for this window. Actually, if I count the rear slider in the cab, that would be yet another window repair. I wouldn't be as upset if the window was stuck closed but it is stuck open and completely down.
To say the least, it was not a happy evening so I decided to take a pic of my favorite grill pan in the kitchen, a pic of the emblem of my truck and then put it all together for a scene. Tried to think of how to pull the window into it but just couldn't come up with something that fit as well as this all did. Not the best photoshop job chucking the layers togehter but I was working kind of quick and didn't spend too much time on it.
Historic Pickering house front window replacement 14
Window was removed. Check out the construction of this old wall. This house was built in 1869. I am not sure EXACTLY how long a building took back then for completion. I have heard 1-5yrs depending on complexity.
Wonder why it is still standing and in such good shape for being 130+ yrs old? Because back then, carpenters who built for a living cared for what they did. They were also treated as professionals, and respected.
Todays industry has taken away from the professional carpenter. It has been all about getting the project built the quickest for the least amount of money. Quality has taken a back seat. That is one reason I started my company 5yrs ago. I wanted to bring quality back to industry. :)
