Photo-a-day #135: May 15, 2011 - Finnish Hockey Fans
Landed in Helsinki today. By late afternoon, there were many happy Fins getting ready for the big championship game against Sweden. As it turned out, late Sunday night Finland beat Sweden 6-1 and won gold in the IIHF World Championship.
This photo is of a particularly happy group who were working on a couple 12-packs of Heineken sitting on the steps of the Helsinki Cathedral. Not sure if they ever made it to a TV to watch the game or not.
Official Chicago Blackhawks Photo Album 1989-90
Alain Chevrier: 1988-90 - One of my all time favorite Blackhawks - don't really know why. 2.61 GAA, .909 SV% in 1989 playoffs. Broke my heart when he was traded to Pittsburgh.
Wayne Presley: 1984-91 - Second round draft pick of Hawks in 1983. Not related to Elvis.
Steve Konroyd: 1988-92 - 2-time silver medalist at the World Championships for Canada. Current in-studio co-host on Blackhawks' TV.
