- Scott Douglas MacIntyre (born June 22, 1985) is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist, as well as the eighth place finalist on the eighth season of American Idol.
- "Mandolin Rain" is the third track of The Way It Is, the debut album and commercial zenith for Bruce Hornsby and the Range.

Scott is 23 years old and from Scottsdale, Arizona. He is legally blind, but that hasn't stopped him from reaching his goals. He can play a variety of instruments, including the piano. His performance of Bruce Hornsby's "Mandolin Rain" was a favorite of the judges because of his passion he put into the song.
