So I wish I could play the guitar. Expecially this song!
Whiskey Lullaby
She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night
1st Chorus
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her till I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby
(Sing lullaby)
The rumors flew but nobody know how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night
2nd Chorus
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby
(Sing lullaby)
103/365 - I Love Rock 'n' Roll
I'm doing a week of self-portraits inspired by songs chosen at random on my mp3 player. Tonight was "I Love Rock 'n' Roll". He smiled so I got up and asked for his name
That don't matter he said 'cause it's all the same
I said can I take you home
Where we can be alone
And next we were movin' on
And he was with me, yeah me
Singin'
I love rock n roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n roll
So come on take your time and dance with me - I Love Rock n Roll, Joan Jett
It should be noted that George is clearly used to me and my quirky photo moments because when I walked in and asked if I could borrow one of his guitars for a photo he didn't even question what someone who can't play guitar was going to do with such an instrument.
