The Hayward Public Library is dedicated to the memory of Cesar E. Chavez -- March 31, 1927 - April 22, 1993.
This plaque was a gift from La Alianza de Hayward, on March 31, 2001.
The plaque reads:
Un verdadero heroe americano que dedico su vida a la no violencia y a la justicia para todos. Ayudanos a amar aun a quienes nos odian: Asi podremos cambiar el mundo.
Dedicada en su honor el 1° de octubre de 1994.
