13/52: the organ
i was driving down Ainsworth on my way to the store yesterday when i saw a guy sitting on the sidewalk playing a parlor organ, also known as a pump organ or reed organ.
a parlor organ sounds like...well, imagine a giant accordion that requires that you use your feet to push air through it. add some effects, some knee pedals and a couple of octave doubler stops, and that'll give you the general idea.
anyway. back to Ainsworth. i pulled a full-on Dukes of Hazzard stop and got out of the car, walking up to the guy and listening to the organ.
to make a long story short, it's most likely made in the 1850s and the works have been fully restored. yes, i bought it. for a STEAL. i'm a freak that way. the guy and his friend wheeled it four blocks to my house on a furniture dolly. it fits perfectly in my house, and makes everything you play sound like something out of the "Amelie" soundtrack. namely, Mendelssohn's "Venetian Boat Song."
anyway. do play a pump organ if you get a chance. make sure to wear loose-fitting pants.
oh. and this is not the only picture i took all week; i just decided to shoot some film. i miss it. so i've got a bunch of stuff processed; i just haven't scanned any of it yet.

when i was in england i bought some chucks!!! in spain they are so expensive, (60 euros) but in england they are 30/35 pounds (how much are they in the usa?? ), so while i was there i bought to pairs =) one classic black hitops and another pink lowtops =)
Nessie (my camera) is aaaaaaaawesome!! i lov eher soo much =) ill post a classic shot in the mirror with her sometime soon!!
today i saw harry potter!!!!!! it was awesome!! but no way nearly as good as the book, but the films are nevger as good as the books so..... xD
