Bury mods
Mod boys posing outside a doss house (Model Lodging House, prop. R D Cronshaw) on Clerke Street, Bury, circa 1966-67. Rumour had it that they had washing lines strung up inside, at 6d a lean - but nobody ever dared to enter! This is a road that ran from Kay Gardens (by The George) parallel to The Rock and ended up by the side of the Odeon, now part of the concrete shopping mall. Steph Minta is standing in doorway, with George 'Raft' on far left, possibly Mick Wilson (?) between them?
