A device for pumping air into or out of an enclosed space
A pump is a device used to move fluids, such as liquids or slurries.
Many emissions systems include an air pump, which pumps fresh air into a vehicle's exhaust to help complete the combustion process and reduce emissions. To get accurate lambda measurements with the LM-1, air pumps should be temporarily disabled.
a pump that moves air in or out of something
A bellows is a device for delivering pressurized air in a controlled quantity to a controlled location. Basically, a bellows is a deformable container which has an outlet nozzle. When the volume of the bellows is decreased, the air escapes through the outlet.
In photography, a bellows is the pleated expandable part of a camera, usually a large or medium format camera, to allow the lens to be moved with respect to the focal plane for focusing.

Timnah is very hot and very dry, a common temperature is 120 degrees F.
Timnah existed for the copper that was mined there for bronze. The miners brought out the rock and then the copper was extracted by melting the rock until the copper flowed out. The bellows and furnace shown in the picture are what they used to heat up the rock. A slave would stand on top of the bellows (like the woman in the picture is) and pump up and down with their legs to feed the fire.
Pumping bellows, in 120 deg. F weather next to a furnace is brutal work, therefore a slave's job.

Bellows Beach, Oahu, Hawaii. Not long after starting to boogie board here for the second time, a ranger/lifeguard of some sort drove up in an ATV, placed a sign in the sand, and drove off without saying a word. When I got out of the water to check what it said, I saw the words "Portuguese Man of War", with one of those shadow stick figure men getitng attacked by a giant jellyfish. So, umm, yeah, we changed beaches.
