- Shipston-on-Stour is a town and civil parish on the River Stour about south of Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire. It is in the northern part of the Cotswolds, close to the boundaries with Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.

The George Hotel was owned by Peter Fox. The hotel, which has been host to Taggart, and scenes from films including Trainspotting, Small Faces and Carla’s Song, was also the backdrop to one of the most astonishing redevelopment sagas in Glasgow’s history. Put bluntly, Fox stuck to his guns for so long that the crumbling hotel, in the heart of the redevelopment area around Buchanan Street, was finally worth ?30 million to developers.
The George Hotel - St Kilda
St Kilda's George Hotel is a local icon. Built in 1885, during Melbourne's boom period it originally operated as a coffee palace. Designed in the Italianate style the building was converted into apartments during the 1990's while the stylish public bar continues to operate on the ground floor. The buildings facade and interiors are generally in very poor condition which could be seen as a response to the gentrification of St Kilda over the last two decades.
