Amalfi e una citta in provincia di Salerno, nella regione della Campania, in Italia, sul Golfo di Salerno, c. 35 km a sud-est di Napoli. Si trova alla foce di un profondo burrone, ai piedi del Monte Cerreto (1.315 metri), circondato da scoscese scogliere e paesaggi costieri. La citta di Amalfi e stata la capitale della Repubblica Marinara di Amalfi, un importante potenza commerciale nel Mediterraneo tra l'anno 839 e fino al 1200.
Nel 1920 e 1930, Amalfi e stata una popolare meta di vacanza per i britannici di classe superiore e aristocrazia.

Amalfi is the main town of the coast on which it is located, named Costiera Amalfitana, and is today an important tourist destination together with other towns on the same coast, such as Positano, Ravello and others. Amalfi is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
