Airport Motels

- The Motels are a New Wave music band from the Los Angeles area best known for "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer", both of which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982 and 1983, respectively. Their song "Total Control" reached #4 on the Australian charts in 1980.
- A motel is a hotel designed for motorists, and usually has a parking area for motor vehicles. They are common in the United States.

Airport Motel
This motel is connected to the back of a furniture store and really has a bit of a skeezy reputation of renting by the hour... though I don't know if it's true or well deserved.
I've been meaning to photograph the sign for a while, there used to be a lot of motels on this stretch of land, but they're gone or repurposed now except for this one.
I like the airplane in the "O"
It was taken through a car window, so excuse the wires and such.

Airport Motel
The airport motel near the Lawrence, Kansas airport is very small and it has a sign showing a plane too large to land on the runway. This is a vintage motel but the sign is relatively new.
