The Studio 15 is available in your choice of six colors: Plum, Promise Pink, Midnight Blue, Ruby Red, Spring Green or standard black with chains. If these options are not enough for you, Dell Studio Design Studio 15 offers a selection of over 200 different models from various artists. When closed, the Studio 15 does not feel as strong as you might expect. The top of the screen shows a significant decrease in pressure very light. In short, this is perfectly fine for a desktop replacement or for use around the average home, but if you need a laptop to be your constant traveling companion, Studio 15 may not be the best option.
The heat and noise
The cooling system does an acceptable job keeping heat under control. The area around the RAM disk, and the heat produced wireless cards is more visible on the external surfaces of the laptop, but temperatures are not hot enough to prevent the use of Studio 15 as a "laptop". The temperature readings below (listed in degrees Fahrenheit) were taken after stressing the system performance criteria for 30 minutes and should reflect the typical temperatures after more than an hour of serious purpose.
The noise was not a big problem with Studio 15. The optical drive is noisy loading slot to insert or eject a disc, but it was normal for slot-loading drives we had in our office. The cooling fan is loud enough to be noticed in a quiet room, but should not be a problem if you need absolute silence.The hard drive was so quiet and it seems that Dell has done a good job of finding ways to minimize hard drive noise. We've seen some sporadic MacBook 13 inch Battery / southbridge complain of our review unit, but the very high frequency noise and can be common to all models of Studio 15.
Conclusion
Dell Studio 15 (1555) provides an impressive balance of features and performance at a fair price. The modern look, cover, and improved customization options at affordable prices are sure to make this a popular book for many consumers. Unfortunately, the poor quality of medium height and port selection is likely that many owners leave them wanting more.
If you're in the market for a nice family PC that offers a wide range of multimedia features at a good price, then the Dell Studio 15 deserves consideration. If you can not see beyond the soft plastic, fortunately, there are many alternatives on the market with screens 15 inches.
