How To Clean Black Mold
Stachybotrys chartarum (synonyms: Stachybotrys alternans and S. atra) is a greenish-black mold that is commonly found outdoors and sometimes found in damp or flooded homes.
Stachybotrys is a genus of molds, or asexually-reproducing, filamentous fungi. Closely related to the genus Memnoniella, most Stachybotrys species inhabit materials rich in cellulose. The genus has a widespread distribution, and contains about 50 species.
This poorly defined term, which has no scientific meaning (also called “toxic black mold”), has been associated with Stachybotrys chartarum. While only a few molds are truly black, many appear black. Not all molds that appear to be black are Stachybotrys.

A how-to or a how to is an informal, often short, description of how to accomplish some specific task. A how-to is usually meant to help non-experts, may leave out details that are only important to experts, and may also be greatly simplified from an overall discussion of the topic.

Approximately one hundred species of mold are toxic and about fifteen are known to cause negative health effects in humans, including allergic reactions, asthma and other chronic conditions. Recent media reports about mold infestations in schools and colleges across the country as well as in the homes of famous personalities Ed McMahon, Melinda Ballard and Erin Brockovich have begun to alert the public to the potential health risks of toxic molds. Each of these incidents involve what has become known as "Sick Building Syndrome." Is mold silently affecting the health of your loved ones or slowly deteriorating your home? Black Mold Your Health and Your Home was written to help you answer these important questions.

Here's a great shot to show how we continued the "Chinois" color of the front room into the hallway. Plus, I had the crown molding installed (other opinions about scale be damned, I like the look!) and the doors were all sanded, repainted in bright white, and the door handles/hardware changed to brushed nickel. Like the front room, we had the ceiling painted in a half-tone of the walls and in a flat finish. Nothing is up on the hallway walls now, but Contractor Larry's suggestion of a few large photographs in black frames would look stunning!

Actually a lesson in how NOT to treat a negative.
These were exposed through a lens that still had some mold on it (cleaned since then), negative developed with the wrong chemicals, chemicals and paper over 10 years expired, no safelight, need I say more? They were essentially test images.
The camera has been cleaned, and the next roll I shoot will be professionally developed and printed.
