Shining City - Acting Edition
Shining City has been an unqualified critical success and quite possibly Conor McPherson’s finest work. In Dublin, a man seeks help from a counselor, claiming to have seen the ghost of his recently deceased wife. But what begins as just an unusual encounter becomes a struggle between the living and dead—a struggle that will shape and define both men for the rest of their lives. Also included here is the one-act, Come on Over, about a Jesuit priest sent to investigate a “miracle” in his hometown, where he re-encounters the woman who loved him 30 years before. Conor McPherson was born in Dublin, Ireland, where he still lives. His plays include This Lime Tree Bower, St. Nicholas, The Weir, Port Authority and Dublin Carol.

Also referred to as City Center II, City Center Plaza, or most appropriately Microsoft Plaza, this 357 foot skyscraper was completed in 2009 and is now one of the corporate homes for Microsoft, specifically handling their new bing search engine. In December 2009, lights in the building were specifically configured to spell out bing throughout the highrise, advertising the search engine to all traffic along I-405. This view is from the middle of downtown Bellevue opposite of the I-405 view which boasts the Microsoft logo on the top of the building. This here is also the view you can see from Several vantages in Seattle. City Center East was originally planned to be 450 feet tall which would have made it the tallest skyscraper in Bellevue, but it was changed to its current height in 2005. This is a beautiful modern piece of architecture which continues to innovate downtown Bellevue, and the wonderful hue of emerald green (which shines even better at night) is just the kind of color I have been lobbying for in downtown Seattle. Enjoy!

The Hobart Building is not one of San Francisco's tallest buildings (the 7th smallest actually) but it is one of the oldest and is often credited as being one of San Francisco's classic highrises. The building was completed in 1914 and was designed by architect Willis Polk and the building features impressive steel masonry as well as its terra cotta exterior and baroque shape. Frankly, it was one of the coolest buildings I have seen in a downtown city and for me it really epitomized my feeling of what old downtown San Francisco would have been like. The sun was shining so fantastic on this day and I was lucky to have the light catch this building just perfect, not washing it out, but instead accenting its beautiful features as well as painting it. This image was captured in July 2009 with my Nikon D90. Enjoy!

When Marcus Ripps inherits the escort service operated by his derelict brother, he has no idea what he's getting into. He's much too philosophical, honest, and hard-working to be a pimp, and yet before long, he's able to pay off his creditors, revitalize his marriage, get a new BMW, and give his son a bar mitzvah he'll never forget. The only question now is: can he keep this business going long enough to change his life? Or will the cops get to him first?
A wild, satiric, insightful, and hysterical romp, Shining City is an L.A. adventure that will keep you guessing to the very end.
