Herringbone Wood Floor
- A method of ascending a slope by walking forward in alternate steps with each ski angled outward
- A zig zag twill weave pattern, popular for dress shirts.
- An arrangement or design consisting of columns of short parallel lines, with all the lines in one column sloping one way and all the lines in the next column sloping the other way so as to resemble the bones in a fish, used esp. in the weave of cloth or the placing of bricks

The sweetest room of the whole trip
After our second round of sunbathing and brave dips in the cold, crashing waves and undertow, we put in quite a few hours of driving and landed late at Pensao Clara in Vieira de Leiria.
The village was a plain place, some miles inland from Praia de Vieira, but the hotel turned out to be the cutest and best of our trip. It's run by an interesting old couple and a few staff, possibly also family.
Here are my shoes on the hooked rug and the herringbone floor. It was so nice we stayed an extra night.... and took lots of pictures.
