Project Info
Description:
The plans for the upgrade of this Sherman Oaks estate called for an extension to the second floor, reconfiguring the main stairs and entry/L.R area and for a massive masonry fireplace to be added downstairs. Specs for the finishes were exacting, including opulent tray ceilings, extensive millwork, intricate wrought iron work, etc. The result: an even more compelling and impressive estate!!
Tips & Advice:
A successful second floor addition must address the additional space needs while maintaining an 'organic' look. The 'after' look should appear wholesome. In a good design the addition blends in seamlessly. Make color and finish selections with attention and care. Try not to 'over design'. The result might just be a look too bold or too dated before long.
