Trio Floor Sander
This is a picture of a Trio sander used to do the initial bulk sanding of the sole. It is heavier than the boat however. It knocks down into about 3 parts for easier hauling and assembly. Under the yellow hood are three rotating (they rotate in the same plane as the floor) sanding heads. I used 40, 60 and 80 grit paper with this Trio. It really did a terrific and fool proof job. No chance of cutting a big groove in the floor with it. I had 28 years of varnish and nicks and bangs removed in about 2 hours with this thing.
I hit the floor with my sander and look what we found!
We're going to re-finish the original floor instead of putting down the Pergo floor we purchased.
Yeah, we ended up going with the Pergo instead. The floor started chipping about a month after this and it wasn't pretty!
