The roof repairers
Ankush, the roof repairer comes down after repairing the roof. That's mama beside him. Mama says Ankush has been repairing our roof for the past 25 years. Every year, before the monsoons, the tiles need to be checked for damage ("monkeys keep jumping on them and break the tiles", says Mama), the damaged ones have to be replaced. The roof also has to be covered with tarpaulin or plastic to prevent any rainwater coming down into the house. "Despite all that I still get leaks in some rooms." Sometime the roof is "opened up" -- tiles on the entire roof is taken down. It must look freaky wandering around a house with the sky showing above.
Mama does a lot of the roof repairing herself after learning it from Ankush. She climbed the first time when she was 17 with Ankush.
