A band-pass filter is a device that passes frequencies within a certain range and rejects (attenuates) frequencies outside that range. An example of an analogue electronic band-pass filter is an RLC circuit (a resistor–inductor–capacitor circuit).
(attenuate) reduced in strength; "the faded tones of an old recording"
weakening in force or intensity; "attenuation in the volume of the sound"
the property of something that has been weakened or reduced in thickness or density
less than normal in degree or intensity or amount; "low prices"; "the reservoir is low"
in a low position; near the ground; "the branches hung low"
an air mass of lower pressure; often brings precipitation; "a low moved in over night bringing sleet and snow"
The BP896 MicroPoint Omnidirectional Lavaliers, from Audio Technica, deliver extremely intelligible natural audio and handles high sound pressure levels with ease. With a capsule diameter not much bigger than the head of a pin, Audio-Technica's smallest-ever lavalier microphone virtually disappears in props or clothing to create highest-quality audio for broadcast and theater sound reinforcement. Audio Technica BP896 Features Inconspicuous, lightweight capsule Extremely intelligible natural audio Handles high sound pressure levels with ease Rugged built for long-lasting performance High-pass UniSteep filter for: Steep low-frequency attenuation Improved sound pickup without affecting voice quality Requires 11V to 52V DC phantom power Includes generous accessory kit and protective case RoHS compliant - free from all substances specified in the EU directive on hazardous substances Element Its subminiature omni element is enclosed in a durable housing designed to minimize noise from handling, clothing and wind. Flip a switch to eliminate low-frequency hum without affecting intelligibility.

This is a BNOS F50-L/U 6M low pass filter, the aim being to suppress transmitter harmonics, the second in particular which falls in a broadcast band.
Claimed attenuation 2f = -40 dB, 3f = -70dB.
The plot was made using the DG8SAQ VNWA version 2.1 calibrated to SMA - so the result includes two SMA to PL259 (yuk) adapters and a short length of cable. There is another plot which shows the result of replacing the filter with an SO239 barrel adapter.
I have not yet acquired any PL259/SO239 cal standards!
Attenuation - 1/2 and 3/4 pairing.
Attenuation in the trp operon of Serratia marcescens. Regions 1 and 2 normally only pair when the ribosome fails to bind to the mRNA. If trp concentration is high, the ribosome will move rapidly through region 1 into region 2, preventing 2/3 pairing. This allows regions 3 and 4 to pair, forming an intrinsic transcription terminator.

The Audio-Technica BP896 is a subminiature clip-on/lavalier condenser microphone with an omnidirectional polar pattern. It is designed to provide intelligible, natural audio for stage/television talent, lecturers, and houses of worship. The Audio-Technica MicroPoint lavalier mic is intended to be worn on the clothing or hidden in props for excellent, yet unobtrusive sound pickup. The wide-range capability of this Audio-Technica microphone ensures clean, accurate reproduction with high intelligibility for speakers, presenters, and other performers. Its small size makes this lavalier condenser mic ideal for use in applications where minimum visibility is required. The Audio-Technica MicroPoint BP896 microphone requires 11V to 52V phantom power for operation. It includes a 1.4m (55") permanently attached miniature cable. Its free end connects to the provided AT8539 power module via a locking 4-pin connector. The connector is also compatible with all Audio-Technica UniPak body-pack wireless transmitters. The output of the power module is a 3-pin XLRM-type connector. A recessed switch in the power module permits choice of flat response or low-frequency roll-off (via integral 80Hz high-pass UniSteep filter) to help control undesired ambient noise. The Audio-Technica MicroPoint BP896 comes equipped with a power module, a clothing clip base, a viper clip base, three single mic holders, two double mic holders, two windscreens and six element covers (two each in black, white and beige) for blending in with your attire. A belt clip and a protective carrying microphone case is also included. The Audio-Technica MicroPoint lavalier mic comes in beige or black with a choice of the following:Unterminated: 55" (1.4m) unterminated cableLemo/M180 connector: 55" (1.4m) cable terminated for Sennheiser wireless systems using Lemo connector3.5 mm connector: 55" (1.4m) cable terminated for Sennheiser wireless systems using locking 3.5mm connector TA4F connector: 55" (1.4m) cable terminated
