An oil filter is a filter to remove contaminants from engine oil, transmission oil, lubricating oil, or hydraulic oil. Oil filters are used in many different types of hydraulic machinery.
A cartridge-filled canister placed in an engines lubricating system to strain dirt and abrasive materials out of the oil.
Cause or allow (liquid) to run off or out of something
flow off gradually; "The rain water drains into this big vat"
Cause the water or other liquid in (something) to run out, leaving it empty, dry, or drier
emptying something accomplished by allowing liquid to run out of it
deplete of resources; "The exercise class drains me of energy"
Make (land) drier by providing channels for water to flow away in
Oil filter
Drained the engine oil and binned the filter while I was doing other stuff.
The M50 and M52 engines have an uncommon set up where the filter is a drop in element at the top of the engine rather than screw in unit in the side/bottom. Makes servicing much easier
Oil filter plate.
