Cheapskate Engineering
A while back we bought a Dirt Devil upright vacuum that worked really well except it ate the rubber drive belts for the carpet brush like I eat peanut M&Ms so we bought another more expensive model and took care of that problem. I'm way too cheap (farm kid) to throw away something that might work "somewhere else" and it paid off again. I was always moving my shop vac from tool to tool and decided to just park this on the sander bench and use it there. It has an amazing suction and gets almost every particle of sawdust and I don't even have to rely on a dust mask so much. I just cobbled a wooden bracket to hold the hose in place and viola - one new shop tool that almost hit the dumpster instead. Do I get extra points for going "green" and recycling something?
Dyson - First Job
We had vacuumed 16 hours previously with our old vacuum, a rather nice 5 year old Dirt Devil. This is what we pulled out of our living room carpet with one pass of our new Dyson. Jiminy.
