R.I.P. Vicky
I feel so sad to write this.
After 17 happy years my cat Vicky got terribly sick beyond help and my parents had to put her down. She's had the usual ailments most older cat's get yet could still run around the house all crazy-like, hold conversations, and purr happily as you pet her all the while chewing on her tail.
Like no other cat I've had she's the most pycho unique:
Tabby known as "Smoked" with the softest fur I've ever known and bright white if combed backward. As a kitten she'd kneed not only on blankets but my hair, arm and even neck once. A fav spot to sleep was near my head on another pillow. Sunspots on the carpet or a heater vent near a window is where we'd often find her. Anywhere warm even a hot garage in the middle of the summer- she'd snooze. She never got along with male cats, would mark her territory inside and out as if male, and loved to roll in the dirt. Her favorite toys were tennis balls and shoestrings she'd carry in her mouth and call all around the house looking for a cat or child to play with. Also loved playing chase with all the kids my mom used to daycare.
Oh and leather! When describing to friends I'd introduce Vicky as the "Pycho Cat with a gender complex(male marking traits), a talker with a leather fetish." She's ruined a fair share of high heels and bags with her love. To this day I still find her hair on my bags she'd nap on. Somewhere along the line she had one canine tooth removed so she looked like a silly 1 toothed vampire when smiling.
So many more memories. One of the things I'll miss the most is her welcoming me each time I'd come home to my parents. Perked up from a nap she's prance over talking the whole time until I've calmed her down with a good petting or combing session.
I'll miss her.
