Carpet Mill Outlet Stores
- An outlet store or factory outlet is a retail store in which manufacturers sell their stock directly to the public through their own branded stores. The stores can be brick and mortar or online. Traditionally, a factory outlet was a store attached to a factory or warehouse.

Power House 1
The abandoned power house at the site of the old Mohasco carpet mill in Amsterdam, N.Y.
Anyone in the vicinity of the North Chuctanunda Creek on this last day of summer might have heard a small but satisfied "KERPLUNK" as this got crossed off my bucket list.
For ten years I've wanted to photograph water rushing past factory ruins. I guess it dates back to my High Metaphoric Period, something about the temporary presence of man and the eternal forces of nature, yadda yadda. But I'd never found the right combination until this.

Inside the abandoned power house at the site of the old Mohasco carpet mill in Amsterdam, N.Y.
There is, or was, a lot of General Electric equipment here, some of it made only a few miles away in Schenectady. This particular item reminds me of something from a 1930s science fiction film, or maybe a control panel in "Metropolis."
