Carpet Stretchers

canvas
The original work was painted on linen- 4' x 11' approximately. When I moved to Austin to begin the project, I rented an apt. with great light and hard floors- no carpeting. I did not bring any furniture other than my bed. I built a large work table out of saw horses and formica covered wood.

My fathers stretcher... older than I am. I've modernized it with the addition of the speed pole which uses an idea taken from an automatically adjusting piano stool to easily adjust to the right length.
