This was from the moment I heard it more than 25 years ago my most favorite song, ever. Somehow it became my ex-wife's favorite too... she had a knack for 'stealing' everything of mine, literally. Today, this morning, taking my Liberty (pictured above) for a R-I-D-E to 'work', (she's a registered service animal and I volunteer her as a 'Therapy Dog', today at a Rehabilitation Hospital in Englewood, Colorado) I heard 'my' song. I have not been able to listen to it since the divorce a few years ago. I never thought I could again... then today, it came on the iPod and instead of skipping it, I left it be... I got it back! In the car I was singing SO loud... Liberty was howling along, she does this when I sing, it's cute...

Anyway.. I am proud to say my camera has not come out of [M] Manual mode in almost 5 months now. This picture was taken before then, when I had only had my Canon for about a week, if that, and barely knew how to even work the shutter button. The weather is not so good today, so I went into the archives for this picture. If you have read this far, thank you.

Introducing the newest southern redneck chick in our family.....

DIXIE BELLE!

This is Christina's new baby. After all of the love and care (and extraordinary expense) of adopting Waylon and nursing him back to health from parvo, he died in a tragic freak accident. Christina decided that she was ready for a new puppy, so here is Dixie Belle, a 3 month old registered black lab. She came to live with us this weekend.

I thought I was going to get an empty nest this year but instead it keeps getting fuller and fuller.

She was more interested in jumping in my lap and eating them camera than sitting for a picture so this is the best I could do.

And yes, she needs a bath but it has been raining and she keeps running out into the rain every time I open the door.
