Ahhh! The new toy! I picked it up today. RB67 as you can see, 90mm lens, 120 back, Polaroid back (and expired Polaroid, woohoo!), waist finder, hard case, and a year of chiropractic included. Not really, but I can dream. As it sits it comes in just shy of 6 pounds, so I imagine no worse than my F5 fully loaded with batteries and my heavy 24-120 lens and SB28.
But this is beast, there is no two ways about it.
On days this one comes out with me I imagine a lot of breaks for my bad shoulder! Although sometimes it's worse to take my backpack off and have to put it back on.
Its inaugural runs will be this week with the Polaroid film, before Saturday's official baptism at the Rotary Balloon Rally in Pittsfield. I have shot that damned rally so many times over the last ten years, on a Pentax PZ1P, a Pentax ZX50, a Nikon F5, my S2, an ME Super, plus various little digital cameras from the camera shop when I still worked there. So this year I will be going all medium format, with the Mamiya and the Holga in tow. Oh, okay, I am sure my S2 will be with me, too. And that by Sunday morning I will be regretting it all. But I figure it'll be a great event to shoot, and at least the balloons are slow moving at 6 am over the river. I can't wait to get this thing all figured out!
I Can Sit Up Now!
