Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Microfleece, Small, Ivory

Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Microfleece, Small, Ivory

Pediatricians recommend swaddling to comfort and soothe newborns, but loose blankets are difficult to keep snug. SwaddleMe wings have Velcro tabs, to wrap up your newborn and stay comfortably in place. As baby grows, wings readjust for a perfect fit. SwaddleMe wings are easily opened to prevent overheating, and the leg pouch can be popped down for a quick diaper checking or changing. SwaddleMe can also be used in the car seat, simply insert car seat harnesses through the access slits!

Pediatricians have long advised parents to swaddle their newborn. The award-winning Kiddopotamus and Co SwaddleMe will help soothe your infant and reduce symptoms of colic by recreating the soothing snugness of the womb. Designed for babies from birth to three months old, this 100-microfleece cotton adjustable infant wrap helps your baby to rest or sleep safely and peacefully.

The SwaddleMe Adjustable Infant Wrap offers:
Soothes infants and reduces symptoms of colic.
Helps babies sleep longer.
Reduces the risk of SIDS.

The leg pouch pops down easily with no need to unwrap baby's arms.
Soothes Baby For Longer, Safer Sleep
An iParenting Media Award winner, the SwaddleMe soothes infants and reduces symptoms of colic by recreating the snugness of the womb. It also can help babies sleep longer by cutting down on the incidents of the startle reflex. Most importantly, new research shows that the type of swaddling your baby will enjoy in the SwaddleMe can help diminish the risk of SIDS and promote better sleep when infants are on their backs. And a percentage of each SwaddleMe sold is donated to First Candle/SIDS Alliance to help babies survive and thrive, so this is a purchase you can feel good about.
Extraordinary Comfort
The SwaddleMe features soft fabric wings that hug your baby close and stay securely in place with self-fasteners to keep baby comfortably swaddled all night long. As baby grows, the wings adjust for a perfect, customized fit. A leg pouch pops down for quick diaper changes while leaving baby securely swaddled. There's also a convenient harness access slit that allows the SwaddleMe to be used in car seats and strollers.
Please note: Size small is designed for babies six to 18 pounds or 19 to 26 inches. The SwaddleMe is also available in size large for babies 16 to 25 pounds or 26 to 31 inches.

Pediatricians know that even the fussiest, wiggliest infants can settle down in minutes—or seconds—when swaddled. But parents know just how difficult it can be to trap those little octopuses in the very thing that’s supposed to calm them. Enter SwaddleMe! This handy little piece of ivory colored fleece allows parents to contain their newborn snugly (not tightly) with adjustable side wings and a leg pouch. Velcro tab closure allows for a good fit, even as baby grows. The leg pouch pops down for easy diaper checks and changes—all while baby’s arms remain securely wrapped. Winner of the iParenting Media Award, and featured in Parenting Magazine, August 2003. The incredibly soft 100% polyester microfleece is machine washable (read care instructions for specifics). Line dry. --Emilie Coulter

Pediatricians know that swaddling babies has multiple benefits. It can calm a fussy infant in minutes, it can reduce colic by recreating the womb, it can ease startle reflex that wakes them, and it can even reduce the risk of SIDS by helping little ones sleep through the night.
But those pediatricians aren’t the ones having to wrestle a wiggly infant into a swaddled state. Parents know how difficult it can be to accomplish this, especially with loose blankets. Luckily, Kiddopotamus has just the thing: their SwaddleMe adjustable wrap. This ingenious covering snugly-not tightly-holds baby through a system of self-fasteners that can adjust to provide a comfortable fit as baby grows.
how it works
An easy, three-step process has baby bundled and calm in seconds.
How it works
Align baby’s shoulders with the contoured top of the open SwaddleMe and tuck their legs inside the leg pouch. Wrap the left wing over baby’s torso, tuck it around baby’s left arm, and attach the fabric fastener to the leg pouch. Place the right wing over the left and secure with fabric fasteners. NOTE: The fabric should never cover baby’s mouth or nose.
The simplicity of SwaddleMe is enough to sell most parents, but Kiddopotamus went the extra mile on convenience, too. The leg pouch folds down for easy diaper checks and changes-while baby’s arms remain cozily secure. SwaddleMe has a harness slit on its back that allows it to be placed in car seats, strollers, and swings for babies on the move. Based on your location, or the time of year that baby will use SwaddleMe, the comfy contraption is available in three different fabrics-lightweight microfleece, cotton flannel, and knit cotton-and a slew of colors and patterns.
Sizes
The SwaddleMe is available in three, offering a perfect fit for whatever stage you need: preemie is for babies weighing 3-7 pounds; small is for babies weighing 7-14 pounds; and large is for babies weighing 15-22 pounds. These sizes are meant to be only a guideline as babies’ girth can vary.

Day 25: Caboodle, blanket, more baby clothes & supplies

Day 25: Caboodle, blanket, more baby clothes & supplies

Yes, that is my infinitely hilarious Caboodle in the giveaway pile. It was enthusiastically adopted by the toddler, actually, and spent a week being variously carried around and ignored in the corner of the living room, and I finally decided enough is enough. Also given away: random bag full of Medela tubing and horns, a big orange tapestry blanket we never use, and a box full of baby clothes.

Things are getting sparse and it is getting downright hard to find these last few days. Places I know I can revisit: cookbook shelf, the cupboard of baking dishes, husband's dresser...what else? My closet, to give away the nicer things I had originally earmarked to sell (where?)...or I could comb through my fabric stash and give away the upholstery-weight stuff we used as curtains in our old place, maybe assorted other bits and scraps I know won't get used any time soon.

Also to note: day 25 is dropped off on Monday (Day 26) so I am running on a bit of a delay this week and will have to catch up at some point before the final day (Friday) with a double load. I wish I could say I'm saving something super meaningful or interesting for the final day's giveaway but I'm not. It's going to be a bit of a stretch to get there.

51/365: Baby GAP Pink

51/365: Baby GAP Pink

51/365 - Feb. 20, 2010: Baby GAP Pink ...

I went to a baby shower today, and one of the things I gave the expectant mother, for her new baby, is this cute pink Baby GAP sweater.

It's an 18-24 months, but I couldn't NOT get it, as I got it for a song and a dance -- almost 90% off. (My secret: There's a thrift store near me that sells tons of clothes. Some even with the tags still on. Including this adorable sweater. It still had the tag, and it was brand new. But I did not pay the brand new price. Seriously, whenever I have kids, many times they will be wearing thrift store finds. If you know how to shop, you can find some darling things!)

My favorite part? The heart shape of the zipper pull. TOO adorable!
