Breastfeed...

Breastfeed...

Before pregnant, I'm not intrested about breastfeeding at all... Maybe because my mom used to give all of us formula milk(fm). But still I know there is a lot of benefits in breastmilk and breastfeed(bf).

When I got pregnant, as a preparation, I read a lot about baby's need. When it came to milk, I did a research about fm in Japan. Surprisingly, halal fm is difficult to be found. I guest it's because we live in "kampung", not the big city. And for halal fm, the price is quite expensive! (In this case, halal means no animal fat contains in the milk)
Then, I also did a research about breastmilk(bm). I got a lot of information and I realized that bm is the BEST! Susu ibu adalah anugerah Allah buat ibu dan anak, kenapa mesti disia-siakan...
With full support from myLove, I tanamkan azam yang I must bf all my babies... Not because of the fm's price or whatsoever, but ONLY bm is perfects for my babies. Semangat dan keterujaan untuk bf memang hebat! Walau disogok dengan pelbagai kata2 yang negatif, I keep in mind, insyaAllah I can do it!

Alhamdulillah, hospital yang I pilih untuk melahirkan Rafiqh tu bf-friendly, the doctor and nurses help me a lot, they guided me on how to hold Rafiqh in the right position before bf him, they showed me the right ways, they gave me lots of tips... And the most important, my mom herself who didn't bf, but she was very supportive! She encouraged me to bf all my babies. Thanks mom...

Honestly, Rafiqh pernah "terima" fm. Rafiqh dilahirkan melalui pembedahan. Ketika operation, I ambil suntikan kebas separuh badan. Selesai dibedah, I terlalu lemah dan terpaksa berada di bawah pengawasan doktor dan nurse for few hours. So, masa tu laa diorang terpaksa bagi Rafiqh fm. Ketika diorang hantar Rafiqh untuk di bf, memang diorang minta maaf, they told me they gave him fm using spoon instead of bottle. So perhaps he won't rejected my nipples... Thanks Allah, he sucked well, good boy!
But then, poor my baby cause my breast didn't produce milk yet. Ada memang ada sebab nurse picit sampai keluar tapi terlalu sedikit. Nurse tu siap kata, "Haa, tengok, you ada susu ok. Don't say susu tak ada." Hahaha, mungkin dia fikir I taknak susukan baby kot.
Baby pulak, maybe dia tak kenyang, dia menangis saja. Masa tu memang kasihan sangat. My mom pulak asyik suruh panggil nurse ambil baby untuk diberi fm(tu je kali pertama dan terakhir my mom sebut pasal fm, sure mak kasihankan baby). I dah serba salah dah that time. Nasib baik nurse tu semua keras hati, hahaha. Diorang tak nak ambil, malah siap paksa lagi suruh bagi baby hisap jugak. Sekarang bila fikir2 balik, I pun tak tahu macamana I boleh bertahan dan begitu over confident, I didn't prepared any fm, masa dok shopping barang baby kat supermarket, jangan kata survey fm, pandang pun tak. I set my mind yang I ada susu, cukup untuk my baby. After 3days, baru laa susu banyak. Alhamdulillah sampai sekarang, Rafiqh fully bf...

Pulak dah, takut punya pasal, hulur jugak laa... My mom suruh sapu susu kerap2, I did every 30minutes, memang betul, cepat betul sembuh. Then, sakit lagi sebab engorged la pulak. Susu penuh pun susah ek, hehe. Tak hairan laa bengkak susu ni boleh membawa kepada demam. That's why my mom didn't allowed me to try all the petua orang lain sibuk bagi, konon2nya nak tambah susu. My mom said I had enough, if not, tak laa lencun baju walaupun dah pakai breastpads! Ek?!

I really enjoy bf Rafiqh. Keseronokan tu berganda bila I jumpa banyak blog yang pemiliknya pro-bf mommies. Kecekalan dan semangat mereka inspired me a lot! I hope I can bf Rafiqh exclusively for 6months, and till he is 2 years old, insyaAllah...

cat and clavier2

My blue persian cat is recovering from the treatment it has to endure every four to six months: trimming, clipping nails and checking on the myriad of parasites that might be living in the Ears, Bowels, Furry Coat, or even Bloodstream of my loyal roommate.

This type of cat is the product of some devious and disgustingly extreme genetic hobbyism, resulting in an form which - for the sake of being en vogue in the 1860's - generations of cats ever since are paying a steep price.

Nowadays, people that crossover genes with the aim of ending up with a cure, yet chronical pathogenic creature - for the sole purpose of teasing the cuteness hormone or nerve of ignorant people, ought to end up behind bars for a very long time.

My cat is suffering from a handful ailments, solely due to her genetic formula: anyhow, it's character is positive and friendly no matter what happens. The indestructible good mood of this pet could get you through the worst of times...

The Price of Civilization: Reawakening American Virtue and Prosperity

For more than three decades, Jeffrey D. Sachs has been at the forefront of international economic problem solving. But Sachs turns his attention back home in The Price of Civilization, a book that is essential reading for every American. In a forceful, impassioned, and personal voice, he offers not only a searing and incisive diagnosis of our country’s economic ills but also an urgent call for Americans to restore the virtues of fairness, honesty, and foresight as the foundations of national prosperity.

As he has done in dozens of countries around the world in the midst of economic crises, Sachs turns his unique diagnostic skills to what ails the American economy. He finds that both political parties—and many leading economists—have missed the big picture, offering shortsighted solutions such as stimulus spending or tax cuts to address complex economic problems that require deeper solutions. Sachs argues that we have profoundly underestimated globalization’s long-term effects on our country, which create deep and largely unmet challenges with regard to jobs, incomes, poverty, and the environment. America’s single biggest economic failure, Sachs argues, is its inability to come to grips with the new global economic realities.

Yet Sachs goes deeper than an economic diagnosis. By taking a broad, holistic approach—looking at domestic politics, geopolitics, social psychology, and the natural environment as well—Sachs reveals the larger fissures underlying our country’s current crisis. He shows how Washington has consistently failed to address America’s economic needs. He describes a political system that has lost its ethical moorings, in which ever-rising campaign contributions and lobbying outlays overpower the voice of the citizenry. He also looks at the crisis in our culture, in which an overstimulated and consumption-driven populace in a ferocious quest for wealth now suffers shortfalls of social trust, honesty, and compassion.

Finally, Sachs offers a plan to turn the crisis around. He argues persuasively that the problem is not America’s abiding values, which remain generous and pragmatic, but the ease with which political spin and consumerism run circles around those values. He bids the reader to reclaim the virtues of good citizenship and mindfulness toward the economy and one another. Most important, he bids each of us to accept the price of civilization, so that together we can restore America to its great promise.

The Price of Civilization is a masterly road map for prosperity, founded on America’s deepest values and on a rigorous understanding of the twenty-first-century world economy.
