Davis Bike Path - Light Weight Folding Bike - Cyclocross Vs Road Bike.
Davis Bike Path
A path or road for bicycles and not motor vehicles
Segregated cycle facilities are roads, tracks, paths or marked lanes designated for use by cyclists from which motorised traffic is generally excluded.
Completed in 1995, formerly an old railroad route between Elyria and Kipton, Ohio, that is popular with Oberlin’s cyclists, joggers, and dog walkers. Stretches 3.2 miles and was incorporated into the Lorain County Metro Park System as part of the North Coast Inland Trail bike path.
A path segregated from motorized traffic for the use of bikes, sometimes shared with pedestrians.

Bike Path Past Our House
Several comments on this: 1st, it's pretty, don't you think? I've always enjoyed fog.
Otherwise, this is the edge of town, with my street there on the left, a bike path which is part of the official Davis Bike Loop (beautiful 12 mile loop around Davis), Russell Blvd. (right), which is part of the historic Lincoln Highway (Hwy 40, first transcontinental U.S. highway), and (far right, past fence) the UCD (University of California, Davis) research farm. This part of the UCD farm will be paved over with streets and houses in the next year or two, in spite of the millions of dollars of benefits it has afforded the state over the years. (Yes, it's sad and dumb.)
Oh yeah, the trees are 125-year-old black walnuts which are still magnificent, but now slowly dying due to shamefully ignorant pruning done by the city at one point.
Resurfaced
The stretch of Tulane Avenue which I cross daily has now been resurfaced. Now for the striping. I've been trying to get them to put down stripes to mark the crossing of the bike path.
