Phantom Springer Forks
Pulled these old springer forks off of a 1960 heavy duty schwinn cruiser. The forks were green, white and ugly as can be. I sprayed them with some paint remover and found that they had been painted green, white, orange, and gray. Under all that old paint, I found the original black with red arrow and white pin stripe factory paint. For now, I like the unfinished look of the forks, so I'll leave them the way they are... Truth is I'm lazy, so I'll finish the job some other day.
1958 Rat Ride
New neck, bars, grips, tires, rims and chain. Re-greased all moving parts and went over the rusty chrome with a fine steel wool. She rides like a dream! As for the faded, rusty paint... I didn't touch it, I liked the old petina that the bikes picked up over the years. She's my new "Rat Ride" for the comming spring and summer.
