The stack height of this original Specialized headset, which is in great conditions, is too high to allow for a steer-tube--based cable hanger for center-pull brake. I have several options:

1. new headset with smaller stack height
2. use side-pull brakes
3. use a stem/handlebar clamp for a metal bell and use a seatpost rear cable hanger.

I went with #3. It does the trick. I happen to have a couple of bell clamp without bell around.

I had to relocate my cyclo-compter to the stem so I could mount both lights.

The great thing about using dual lights is you can aim each one right where you want it. I usually make one my low beam, hitting the street about 10-15ft ahead of my bike, and the other one shoots further down the road to light up cars or pedestrians.
