atlanta. night. empty street.
taken in atlanta, georgia. 9/25/07. around 1am. I dropped some british people off at my sister's house, and on the way out of town, decided that I really couldn't resist taking some photos downtown.
it's interesting, walking through downtown atlanta, camera, tripod in hand. looking up at buildings and down empty streets for photographs. got some funny looks for sure. one guy asked me if I was a professional photographer getting night shots of the buildings, and I told him no, unless he wanted to pay me. in which case then yes, I was definitely a professional.
my good friend frank was with me, which was good, because frank is crazy, and he would have beaten somebody up if someone had decided to, oh I don't know, knife a couple of nerdy photographer boys in atlanta at 1am.
most of my shots didn't turn out very well. a few did. this is an HDR that I actually like. it's 5 separate exposures. I used the highest f stop that I could, and left the shutter open from 15 - 30 seconds at a time.
streets were pretty empty.
Atlanta Skyline Lightning
It took 50 tries to actually catch a lightning bolt with the skyline in the background. Unfortunately I was too stupid at the time to use a slow shutter speed. Live and learn and keep waitng for another night with as much gorgeous lightning.
