Vito B Stuck Shutter release
I had to pull my Vito B apart again due to a stuck shutter, I ve had a few enquiries so I've posted pics of the suspected problem.
First step is winding the spool spiggot on the back of the camera. It should have tension and should be wound two clicks. If it loose and rolls very easily with only the frame numbers clicking over, you have a stuck shutter release lever.
Pop open the Vito B by unscrewing the flat screw on the accessory shoe and one screw in the film canister holder.
This photo is the normal position the shutter release lever in the "stopped position". This prevents the shutter being depressed again leading to a double exposed shot.
Lightmeter
The earliest type of light meter called Leningrad is an analog amateur soviet lightmeter. It has a reflex viewfinder in the middle of the dial. It allows the use of aperatures from 1.4 to 45 and shutter speeds from one two thousandth of a second to 2 minutes. A sliding white filter is provided for use as an incident light meter.
A friend of mine gave it to me because he didn't want to use anymore. Frankly it is not something you will work with. But I think it really works. Nowadays the digital cameras failed with evaluating and understanding the correct exposure. Sometimes when I see it in my bag, I use it.
