This was all so neat!
I could not believe my own eyes! This is the first half of my house, flying through the air with the greatest of ease! Such a morning! I took so many pictures! The basement was already finished by this time, and they set this half of the house right down on the right spot, with a little help from the spotters on the ground. I had never seen this.
Our home is a modular. We looked at a hundred or so houses before we found this model. But when we first walked through the door, we both said aloud, "This is it!" I could see our furniture fitting into the rooms, and there was a room that was just right for a pool table which we did not have yet. But I could see it there. A few months later, a chance came to buy a fullsize used pool table (in good condition) for $300! Of course, we bought it......
There are differences between a modular home and a manufactured home. I'm not going to go into the differences right now, but if you're looking for such a home, be sure you check on them to see those differences. We chose to buy a modular.
Singer Sewing Machine
When we bought our home here in Bonnie Scotland many years ago there was one or two old pieces of furniture and the like left. The house was owned by two very elderly sisters who had both died (one died in the house) and the estate asked if we wanted to purchase any of these items for a small fee. My wife purchased, if I recall correctly, an old chair and some bits-and-bobs along with this "ancient" Singer sewing machine ~ the treadle style.
Today, this sits in one of our rooms (with the actual sewing machine, hidden within the original box/cover) and my wife always has fresh flowers and candles sitting on it. This particular model is very old and hopefully falls into today's challenge (I think) perfectly!
To add some "age" I did a little sketched processing.
