Centaurea "John Coutts"
This is the first time I have seen this particular flower whcih is named "Centaurea John Coutts ", at least that's what the voice memo I recorded said it was! lol I was actually chatting with a lovely lady who was also photographing this plant using an old manual camera of some description. She is approaching 80 and makes slides from her photographs which she shows at Lewes Camera Club evenings, so I am rather intrigued as to what kinda camera she was using all I know for sure is that it isn't digital!
I have done a bit of research online and I believe this plant is a Knapweed, Star Thistle!
Again I took this shot on aperture priority with macro and decided not to apply any editing effects or enhancements.
Detail Ahead
Plants always have so much detail and these are no exception. Great to photograph outside from my mums bunch of Mothers Day Flowers. Even after this time to the day of posting online, they are still going strong too.
