SUGAR ,SUGAR...BE MY WRAPPED SUGAR CUBE!

ADDA has an infinity for WRAPPED SUGAR CUBES !

I can NOT stand loose sugar at my cafe table, nor BARE sugar cubes on my coffee saucer, nor on the table. A sure sign of a cafe that is NOT trying at all to uphold traditions...

I HAVE to have WRAPPED SUGAR CUBES !

ADDA brings back boxes of the WRAPPED SUGAR CUBES from EUROPE. I even LOVE saving the extra wrapped sugar cubes from the cafes...(ADDA only uses 1/2 of a sugar cube, so he brings back 1 cube and 1/2 wrapped.)

I still have my CAFE DE FLORE wrapped sugar cubes from 1983...I could NEVER open those!

This is such an obsession, that ADDA brings back wrapped sugar cubes from Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, (the PARIS of SOUTH AMERICA) , and SWITZERLAND!

ADDA framed his favorite WRAPPED SUGAR CUBES in a frame!

The extra touch of wrapping the sugar cubes in a colorful wrapper just sends me to SUGAR HEAVEN!

My friends in PARIS know this and they tuck their extra wrapped sugar cube(s) in their pockets to give to me!

Of course, my favorite WRAPPED SUGER CUBES are from the French company SUGAR DADDY!

Every trip to PARIS or EUROPE, ADDA brings back a box of the wrapped sugar cubes to the states where there is no such thing.

WRAPPED SUGAR CUBES are a pleasent memory from my 20's when I hung out at cafes and drank coffee until the wee hours of the night...Chucking those little wrapped cubes in my pocket as a souvenier of a wonderful day in PARIS!

The way to ADDA's heart is a wrapped sugar cube!

Sugar cane cutters

Sugar cane cutters

Large mounted photo found in Tasmania depicting sugar cane cutters in Queensland in the early 1900s. This work was hard and dangerous because of poisonous snakes and spiders but it paid well. The classic Australian play "Summer of the Seventeenth Doll" by Ray Lawler is about sugar cane cutters. The man with the bucket appears to be wearing a cooking apron and probably has food inside the rolled up cloth. The group may have been about to take a break. Note the metal mugs hanging from the shoulder of the man on the right. Large size available for viewing (recommended).
