With a legacy as rich as the land which gave them inspiration, artisans of Old World Europe elevated the trade of cabinetmaking to a legitimate form of art. Attention to detail and craftsmanship were a matter of personal pride. Palos Verdes captures the essence of the Old World and infuses it with a New World sense of style. The scale and function have been updated, but the timeless design, hand-rubbed finish and meticulous craftsmanship are as much a hallmark today as they were in Renaissance Europe.

L to R Shane ?, John Carney, Dominic Price APL, ?, Mark Kinsella, John Ryan PL. Members of the Panther Patrol in Germany on Annual Camp. Scouting in those days was tough. Cooking by fire for breakfast lunch and tea every day and in all weathers. Still, it was great fun. Training as a Scout began as a rawlie - axemanship, which included training with a bushman saw was essential as you weren't allow to use them unless you had been trained - this was a real disadvantage on camp. Pioneering - knots, lashings and building tables, seats, dressers, triangular flagpoles and other advanced projects was also started as a new scout. This ability gave us the comforts away from home - like a dining shelter over the table. Morning inspections of hygene and kit were also essential in maintaining standards. The uniform above was to halp save our real shirt unifoms for special occasions while away.

I was in an art supply store the other day and picked up these pencils with this shot in mind. It took quite a few shots, however, to get it.
The pencils were arrayed on a piece of white plexiglass, but the first shots I took were dull and not that interesting. I played around with lighting, but with little satisfaction. Finally, I got out my cheap little studio flash with its diffuser shade, and placed it under the plexiglass (the dining room table it was sitting on is glass, thankfully). That did the trick, except I got really picky about making as perfect a circle as possible with the pencil tips. Finally, about 50 shots later, I got what I wanted. :) The pencils were as-is out of the box.

Specifically designed for extending the length of the triangular sanding pad for sanding in extremely tight areas with the RO 90 The secret to a great finish lies in the use of the right pad and abrasive for the application at hand. With the Festool System, you will find a solution for virtually any application, and you will produce better results with pads, abrasives, sanders and dust extractors designed to work seamlessly and efficiently together. Festool sanding pads are designed as carefully as every other component for optimum performance and a long life. The Festool pads are designed with dust extraction as a primary consideration, so you will work cleaner, produce a better finish and significantly extend the life of your abrasives and pads. Festool pads feature the StickFix hook-and-loop design for quick and efficient abrasive changes, and enable reuse of partially used abrasives. A highly-resilient, heat-resistant MPE foam is utilized in all Festool pads for consistent finishing results, uniform wearing, and extended pad life. Because sanding pads will eventually fatigue and require replacement, it is advisable to keep a fresh pad at hand to avoid a break in work.
