We Can Rebuild It..
We Have the Technology.. Faster. Stronger. Better.
I fixed up my car about a month ago, and on the test run to see if the repairs would hold, some asshole crashed it into a bush. If I ever find him, I'm going to whip his ass.
Anyway, the damage was widespread, but easily fixed- the right front wheel assembly tore loose (totally seperating from the car.) In the end, I had to replace a steering mount, steering arm, and shock cap. I replaced the nylon steering arms on each side with new machined aluminum arms, and also replaced the shock cap with aluminum Team Factory caps (ie higher grade ones.) The front end is significantly more durable now.
Boring wheel bearing holes
The flat center of an aluminum truck casting is clamped on top of a 1-2-3 block for drilling and boring the wheel bearing holes.
So this is part of my current project - a 3.5" gauge riding car based on William Morewood's Raritan riding car plans.
