I want to share a critique I got on this. When I captured this shot, all I worried about was the silhouette and the details on the shot. I wanted to get even the small details on the rail (bottom right).
The person who critiqued my work looked at the symbology behind my shot. He said:
"The wheel is fascinating thing.
A kind of geometrical figure steeped in philosophy.
The wheel is a symbol of eternity: things starting again, and again...
But it's a fairground wheel, which means some fun... What kind of fun, to start again all things ?
It's a paradox, a logical problem, and the black and white effect shows it.
Otherwise, the wheel is empty, why ? Nobody wants to play the life game ?
Why the wheel is hiding the sun?"
