An electromagnetic wave with a wavelength in the range 0.001–0.3 m, shorter than that of a normal radio wave but longer than those of infrared radiation. Microwaves are used in radar, in communications, and for heating in microwave ovens and in various industrial processes
cook or heat in a microwave oven; "You can microwave the leftovers"
a short electromagnetic wave (longer than infrared but shorter than radio waves); used for radar and microwave ovens and for transmitting telephone, facsimile, video and data

(dish) a piece of dishware normally used as a container for holding or serving food; "we gave them a set of dishes for a wedding present"

Pyrex is a brand name for glassware, introduced by Corning Incorporated in 1915. Originally, Pyrex was made from thermal shock resistant borosilicate glass. In 1998, Corning sold its consumer products division which subsequently adopted the name World Kitchen.
Pyrex is a programming language developed to aid in creating Python modules. Its syntax is very close to Python, with the aim of making it easy for Python programmers to write the non-Python code usually required for such modules in a language which at least is very close.
A kitchen staple for more than 80 years, Pyrex bakeware is as relevant today as it was in 1915. Made of a durable, high temperature material, Pyrex bakeware is classically beautiful and versatile enough to use in the refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher and on the table in style.
Pyrex was the first to create a line of glass bakeware so cooks could actually see how their food was cooking. At the time, the idea was revolutionary; now--like all great innovations--we take it for granted. In fact, these days this large baking dish from Pyrex (a company that's been making quality glass products for the better part of a century) costs about as much as dessert and coffee for two at a swanky cafe. Not a bad deal, considering it transitions flawlessly from oven to microwave to freezer to dishwasher, and, if you're moderately careful, it will last you a lifetime. This dish's 4-quart size is perfect for jumbo cakes or a casserole for a crowd. --Meg Heffernan
