Blast and damnation.
When we were figuring out how big to make the microwave cabinet box, Ralph (our cabinet guy) said that there were no standard widths of microwaves. So we measured our existing one, then said, let's make the box fit that.
Fast forward a year later, with new cabinets installed, and we finally bought an awesome new combination microwave / convection oven from Sears. A beautiful unit. THE ONLY UNIT that we liked at all.
We get it home. We had measured it in the store. We thought it should fit, just right.
It didn't.
How much space did we need? 1/4 of an inch. GAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I pondered all the ways I could think of to fix this situation. I thought, hmm, we could route out the side of the walls and then slide in the box. We could cut the sides out. We could... um, crap!!!!
Well, the next day, Ralph just happened to come by. And he thought that everything I could think of was a bad idea. He suggested just making a new cabinet box for the microwave we had purchased.
At this moment, I realized that, despite how long it had taken to get the cabinet boxes done, it was FREAKING GREAT to have a custom cabinet maker to help fix this situation.
Final additional cost for our nice microwave: $200. Such a deal. :)
In keeping with the mission of Chef’s Planet to solve everyday cooking problems, this removable liner catches globs, drips, and crumbs so cleaning the toaster oven’s a snap. Plus, eliminating leftover mess reduces the risk of inflammation, pests, and burnt food odors. The liner is made of PTFE-coated fiberglass with nonstick sides for fast and easy cleaning. It fits below or on top of the drip pan of virtually every toaster oven. For smaller toaster ovens, users can trim the liner to size without difficulty. The convenient, long-lasting liner is also dishwasher-safe. This item measures 11 by 9 inches, weighs 1 pound, and was made in the U.S.A. --Jessica Reuling
