Give me the splendid silent sun with all his beams full-dazzling. -Walt Whitman (1819 - 1892)
Like a frozen wedge of the burning sun, this pendant of citrine crystals radiates a rich warm golden glow when hit by light. Druzy deposits make some of the crystals look like they have a light dusting of sugar. It is surrounded by a ring of tiny golden pearls, tiny iolite, and rich tourmaline and spessartine garnet briolettes, and crowned with a cluster of iolite rondels. The pendant hangs from a string of citrine pears and ovals; zircon, amber and quartz rondels and drops of mixed gemstones. These little drops combine quartz, tanzanite, amethyst, moonstone, aquamarine, carnelian, tourmaline, iolite, lapis and topaz. Rich red-brown quartz twisted cubes alternate with chain to reach the vermeil hook closure, from which falls an elaborate tassel of vermeil, iolite and tiny golden pearls. Craving the sun?

The butterfly appears to be of the "Common Morpho" variety. The undersides of its wings have a distinctive, striking pattern of black and yellow-ringed eyespots on a brown background. This variety is common and widespread in Central and South America as well as the islands of the West Indies.

Radiant brown smoky quartz makes a stylish statement in these elegant drop earrings, made from 14 karat yellow gold. They hold a total of six smoky quartz stones, beginning with princess-shaped stones, turned on point, at the posts. Small faceted rounds dangle below, and larger pear shapes tip the ends to complete the design. With their rich, dark color, these sparkly stones are the perfect complement to your wardrobe neutrals. The earrings are hinged for a gentle sway and finished with friction backs.
