An interesting find in the Arboretum, Capsicum annuum 'Black Pearl' an ornamental pepper plant with nearly black leaves!

Plants in this arboretum are not always labeled, so I was pleased to see one of those plastic tie ons on this one. I didn't think it looked like any pomegranates I'd ever seen, but afaik, I'd never seen a seedless pomegranates. When I did a Google image search however, I began to suspect someone had played a trick - seedless pomegranate's look pretty much like the seeded variety. I searched again on 'black leaves' and found its true identity pretty quickly. Now that I look at them, these fruits do look a bit like cherry peppers.

Black Pearl Skate Park is the largest outdoor concrete skate park in the world. Its expansive bowls, half-pipes, and quarter-pipes are a far cry from the gritty punk-made runs of Bunrside I'm used to shooting at in Portland. But the skaters here are not afraid of photographers, and are pretty avid about their sport. It's highly impressive.
