number 23! this is the only piercing i've had that was totally impulsive. i'd done no research, knew nothing about it, but it seemed fun so i went for it. it was, unequivocally, the most bizarre piercing i've ever had. almost no pain, but everything about every sensation felt utterly WEIRD. there's no other way to describe it. the clamp felt weird, the needle felt weird, the insertion and screwing the ball on felt weird, and it's weird to look at and weird to feel inside my mouth. but i love it! it's so fun. i'm not entirely sure what i'll replace that barbell with, but i'm leaning toward some kind of small ring.
this was the first one i actually had to stop beforehand and say "wait, i'm scared." at the last second, the thought of the clamp on that tiny tiny membrane sucked all the courage out of me and i had to take a couple deep breaths, then it was fine.
i love the reactions to it. its only function is for shock value, which is silly given how painless it was.
