VICTORIAN WEDDING RINGS. HISTORY OF DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RINGS. MOTHERS RINGS WITH NAMES.
this is my beautiful new wedding ring made possible by my nana and my mom. nana gifted me a beautiful, antique rhodolite garnet and a couple diamonds (which i opted not to use but were a generous gift). mom donated many pieces of scrap gold to be sold so that i could afford to order the french filigree, victorian reproduction mount. i also sold my previous wedding ring that was a man's gold band (kindly gifted to me because i could not afford a ring when i got married). then stewart's gem shop in boise, idaho did a marvelous job setting the stone. voila...i love it so much.
In Victorian times, flowers became the secret messengers of lovers; each flower having its own meaning. It is believed that 'the flower language' began in Turkey during the seventeenth century. Lovers began using floral exchanges to convey messages. Thus bridal flowers were chosen with regard to their traditional significance.
