Phone Box
One day, when I was growing up, a phone box rang as a friend of mine walked past. I didn't answer it, even then all too aware of the potential mad bombers, kidnappers, ghosts or demons on the other end. The things that whisper, the ghosts that Guglielmo Marconi was too terrified to speak to according to the 2000AD about the telephone to speak to the dead he developed.
I was that sort of kid.
My friend on the other hand picked it up and had a very pleasant chat with a lady at BT who was testing the line. Years later I work on a horror podcast and he's a subsistence engineer and I STILL don't answer ringing phone boxes.
