Metric is a four piece band formed in NYC that has been based at various times in Toronto, Montreal, LA, and
London. Their fourth full length studio
album FANTASIES is a much anticipated
follow up to 2005's highly acclaimed LIVE IT OUT. FANTASIES was written by the band in a farmhouse outside Seattle, and by frontwoman Emily
Haines in exile in Argentina. The album was recorded at guitarist Jimmy Shaw's own Giant Studio in Toronto and mixed at Electric Lady in NYC by Grammy winner John O'Mahony (Coldplay, The Strokes). A densely textured modern mix of psychedlia, electro and rock, this album s dream like quality stays true to the band s aesthetic while venturing into more accessible musical territory. On standout track ''Gimme Sympathy'', when sharp-tongued Haines invokes the age-old existential dilemma - ''Who would you rather be: The Beatles or The Rolling Stones'' - it s because she already knows her answer: neither.

Day 213: Weddings and Concerts
Woke up at 7 and started getting ready for the wedding. By 8 o'clock Jess and I were ready... but the wedding wasn't until 10:30am. So we took a stroll over to the Happy Tomato, neither of us had been there before. YUMM!!! The owner was really sweet, so we might go there Thursday night for taco bar and empinadas.
Soon enough I left for the wedding. Everyone looked beautiful!! Mandy, you looked gorgeous. Bridesmaids walked, talks given, vows and rings exchanged. So cute!
The reception was fun! A little stuffy, but still fun!
I met up with Nick and Matty P, picked up Sawria and headed down to Boston for a free show at the Governement Center. We were super close to the front for Passion Pit, Metric, Gaslight Anthem and Airborne Toxic Event. My favorite was probably a toss up between Gaslight Anthem and Airborne... I like the Gaslight cd more but Airborne was better live.... hmm?
Came home around 1am and couldn't get my key out of the ignition. I was soo tired I was falling asleep trying to figure out what was wrong. After about 20 minutes I gave up and got my spare key and locked my car with the key still in the ignition.
O - ring Necklace with Heart Charm, Purple
This necklace is made with metal O - ring covered with cotton thread, suspended on 22" long crocheted rope, grape purple color.
There is a pewter heart charm inside the ring.
The ring measures 1" in diameter.
